Update 2021-10-23: It has now become a bit of an autumn tradition for us to visit their afternoon tea and this year too it was very nice. This post is from our visit in 2020.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n


During the weekends in October, Alster's manor has invited you to a classic Afternoon Tea. Alster's manor is the birthplace of the poet and V\u00e4rmland icon Gustaf Fr\u00f6ding. The manor is today run by Karlstad municipality and is open to the public. In addition to a beautiful location with nice paths for walking, there are cafes, shops and exhibitions here. An annual Christmas market is also held in December, well worth a visit if you happen to be passing by.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

We were treated to a hearty buffet with classic scones and canap\u00e9s and lots of small cakes, mini-pastries and other goodies. Here, no one left the table hungry. We probably would have liked a little more types of tea to choose from, but the ones that were available were still good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In these Corona times, it always feels a little unsafe to visit buffets and maybe this one was a little crowded around the buffet table. However, the staff did their best to distribute seats between the guests. All parties were also seated at tables with a good distance from each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all, a very pleasant afternoon in a historic setting and for those of you who didn't make it to the autumn Afternoon Tea at Alster's manor, we hope they invite you to tea again soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
